Medan, Indonesia, Goosela.com – A number of sports facilities and facilities in the city of Medan, especially the Teladan Stadium which is the pride of the citizens of the city of Medan, became Bobby Nasution’s attention when he was sworn in as mayor of Medan. In addition to responding to the needs of the athletes, President Joko Widodo’s son-in-law wants the capital city of North Sumatra Province to have a decent and capable stadium and become the pride of the community through the renovations that will be carried out.

In realizing the renovation plan that will be carried out, the number one person in the Medan City Government has met directly with the Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) of the Republic of Indonesia, namely Zainudin in Jakarta, last Monday (21/3/2022). In the meeting that took place at the Kemenpora Office, Bobby Nasution expressed his desire and seriousness to renovate the Teladan Stadium which will be built to international standards.

The Mayor of Medan said that there were several parts of the Teladan Stadium that would be significantly renovated. Among these are the capacity of the audience and the quality of the grass. With the renovation later, the husband of the Chairman of the Medan City PKK TP, Kahiyang Ayu, hopes that the Teladan Stadium can later become a stadium to be proud of for the future.

“To be qualified, of course there are some parts that will be renovated, such as the capacity of the audience. With an international standard renovation in the future, we hope that at least the Exemplary Stadium can become the venue for the AFF Cup. For that, we ask for your support,” Bobby Nasution told the Menpora.

Prior to that, Bobby Nasution had also held an Exemplary Stadium Design Expose Meeting with the consultants. In his direction, Bobby wants the stadium which is the home base for PSMS Medan to be built with international standards so that it is recognized by the World Football Federation (FIFA).

“Renovation of the Exemplary Stadium must refer to international standards. Whether it’s regarding the capacity of the audience, the quality of the grass, the area of the field and others. We want not only athletes and visitors to feel comfortable and happy, but the community also feels proud to own the Exemplary Stadium,” said the man who is known to be friendly and smiling to the consultant.

The plan to renovate the Exemplary Stadium, which will be carried out by Bobby Nasution so that it becomes the pride of the citizens of Medan, has received appreciation from former PSMS Medan players during the Amrustian Union era. Amrustian said that the renovation of the Exemplary Stadium needs to be done so that the city of Medan is not left behind from other regions in Indonesia.

“Yes, that’s very good. We are proud that Medan City has a beautiful stadium. It should have been renovated. That fits,” said Amrustian with a typical Medan accent when contacted, Wednesday (6/4/2022).

While joking, the figure who had brought PSMS Medan to win the Indonesian League and North Sumatra PON in 1985 even stated and considered that Medan City was not part of Indonesia. Because, added Amrustian, there has never been a stadium renovation like other cities. If the renovation is carried out, of course Bobby Nasution will make the residents of Medan City proud.

“We are the 3rd largest city in Indonesia. Other areas already have good stadiums, magnificent, pleasing to the eye. Time for us to continue to maintain the ‘antique’,” he concluded with a chuckle while hoping that the renovations carried out by Bobby Nasution were also expected as well as preparing the facilities training for the forerunners of athletes in various sports in the city of Medan, especially football.
